a Scottish girl living the American dream. Fashion, beautiful and everything fabulous to me!

On Sunday I travelled the long distance to Anchorage, Alaska with my work colleagues for a jam packed business trip. I finally got home very early this morning – not going to lie getting in at 1:30 then our cub waking up at 5am was tough… Starbucks was needed!

I appreciate these opportunities visiting cities that I wouldn’t have got the chance to so easily! Last time I came up here I was pregnant, terrible morning sickness, it was freezing and icy being in December and very busy!

Here are the top places I would recommend venturing out to if you are in this neck of the woods!!

⁃ captain cook hotel to stay – brilliant places to eat, gym with classes, shops and spa! What’s not to love… oh plus the views! Ask for room on the higher levels

⁃ Fletchers bar – in captain Cook – awesome cocktails and fun atmosphere

⁃ Crows nest – stunning views, great service and food!

⁃ 12 mile run round the Cook Inlet

⁃ Glacier brewhouse – recommend salmon dip and calamari and the raspberry beer!

⁃ Downtown anchorage is filled with gorgeous fur clothing and cute shops!

⁃ Kaladis brothers coffee

⁃ Skinny raven running clothing shop – if you head to the back you will see ex race tees from races in Alaska for only $5 (I bought 2!)

⁃ 48th street brewery – gorgeous views over Cook Inlet

⁃ Northern lights – very much dependent on time of year

⁃ Moose’s tooth pizza (rates best in North America)

⁃ Flattop mountain hike

⁃ Hunting and fishing seasons

AND THE TRULY BEST experience – maybe one of the best moments of my life was going up on my friends plane. If you know someone up there I highly recommend doing this! it was the clearest evening, seeing all the glaciers and mountains was spectacular!! We landed in the middle of it all – I had tears taking it all in!

Have you ever been to Alaska? What would you recommend?!
