Party season is upon us! Late nights, lots of alcohol, lots of food that we wouldn’t normally indulge in, and LOTS OF MAKE-UP! Gosh your poor skin! I have 5 tips to help keep your skin looking refreshed!
Makeup Free Mondays or in my world most days I can get away with no make-up! Imagine how much time I’m saving by cutting out make-up applications.
What about those mornings after a later-than-usual Sunday night or a restless sleep when you’re plagued by under-eye circles, bags and puffiness? I mean I’ve been up since 3:30am with morning sickness not had a good nights sleep at all! Do you reach for the concealer? Or do you stick with your commitment to being bare faced?! Here are my tips for embracing the natural look… even after a late night.
Elevate Your Head.
If you know you won’t be able to sleep as much as usual double up on your pillows. By keeping your head slightly elevated, you will reduce the amount of fluid that accumulates underneath your eyes.
Get Moving.
Even if you’re time strapped, try just doing some jumping jacks, squats of pushups in the morning to help get your heart rate up. By increasing your heart rate, you improve your body’s circulation, which helps not only increase your energy level but also reduce under-eye bags and circles.
Make an Egg White Mask.
If puffiness is your primary concern, an egg white mask will help tighten the skin around your eyes. Use your finger to dab a thin layer of raw egg white on the skin around your eyes, leave it on until it dries (about 15 minutes) and then rinse it off with warm water.
Use Tea Compresses.
When you wake up, steep two caffeinated tea bags in warm water before squeezing out the excess water and placing them in the refrigerator. While you shower and begin to get ready, the tea bags will cool. Once chilled, place one bag over each eye for up to fifteen minutes. The cool compress will help reduce puffiness while the caffeine helps reduce circles and bags as well.
Apply Caffeinated Eye Cream.
Everyone should own an eye cream with caffeine as an active ingredient. It constricts blood vessels to diminish discoloration and reduce puffiness. For an added bonus, keep it in the refrigerator so the chill can simultaneously work to ease your under-eye woes. I use Tropic skincare roll on eye refresher
