a Scottish girl living the American dream. Fashion, beautiful and everything fabulous to me!

So the Davidson’s got hit with a horrific Christmas stomach bug so I’ve literally been sofa bound for the last couple of days – sucks but back to prepregancy weight now!! Silver lining right! Now I’m finally feeling a little better I can talk about my love affair with two skincare products!

Gosh crazy to think I’ve been blogging about skincare for nearly 7 years in March – think I’m verging on beauty expert…?!? Hmm not yet but pretty damn close!

Jade Facial Roller

Did you know jade facial rollers have been used in Chinese skincare routines since the 7th century. The handheld massagers are usually dual-ended with two jade stone heads that boost blood circulation, reduce swelling, and help your skincare products penetrate deeper. They are supposed to be a quick, easy cure for daily skincare struggles like dark under-eye circles and puffiness from fatigue. The increase in circulation can also help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

I keep mine next to my night stand so after I’ve applied my serum and night cream I use this for 6ish minutes: see below tips!

The most well-known benefit of using a jade roller is that it helps to reduce puffiness and inflammation in the face. A jade roller can help to stimulate the lymphatic system, which in turn reduces inflammation and puffiness. Other benefits include brightening complexions, tightening pores (especially if you put it in the fridge for a few minutes before using), helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, and increasing blood circulation.

I purchased mine from Amazon for $15!

Trader Joe’s Blueberry Açaí Facial Scrub

Are you a fan of the British daily mail? Monthly Main Street magazines?! Unless you have been living under a rock you must have heard about this $6 facial scrub which has been selling out (so much so I found it on amazon and paid $15!!)

Gorgeous high end packaging with a sweet, blueberry scent that comes from blueberry purée and açaí fruit extract and also contains alpha-hydroxy acids for exfoliation and colloidal oatmeal to leave skin soft and smooth. I leave on for 10 minutes then cleanse, tone and moisturize.

This facial scrub also has AHAs in it. AHA is an acid (nothing to be afraid of) that is ideal for keeping your skin youthful.

It’s an ideal exfoliator for regular use, versus a much harsher scrub. I would recommend using this facial scrub twice a week to keep your skin looking healthy and youthful.
